One of the biggest challenges to people with spinal cord injuries is finding and training good personal care assistants. The 2022 Keck Summer Open House will feature a proposed online training program with the opportunity for your questions and input. This project, supported by the National Institute on Disability, is the tool for which we have all been waiting.
Dr. Jeanne Zanca, Senior Research Scientist at Kessler Rehabilitation Institute has worked with NIDILRR and a team including people with spinal cord injuries and their families, caregivers, professionals, and researchers. The program is designed to introduce hired personal assistants to the experiences and needs of people with spinal cord injury and will be followed by ongoing projects designed to support family caregivers. Now it is your chance to be a part of this important project!
Dr. Young will also give an update on research and the upcoming clinical trials.
The Summer Open House will be Thursday, July 21st, 7-9:00pm via zoom. Click here to register.
